Select a location just inside the drip line (just inside the canopy of plants and vegetables)
Find your nearest irrigation line (drip or PVC) and determine the best way to connect. If there is an existing spray head that services the plant or vegetable you can simply remove the spray head and tap into that riser
Consult the Root Quencher team for proper connections needed for easy installation
Dig a 2” diameter hole to a depth of 6” using a trowel or an auger
Insert into hole, place cap on the Jr. while filling in dirt around the device
There are many ways to connect your Root Quencher Jr. to a water source, preferably automated but not required:
1. Tap into a 1⁄2” or 3⁄4” PVC line
2. Tap into an existing 1/2” drip irrigation line
3. Connect to a garden hose (and there are great
hose-end timers available to automate that!)
Once you are connected to a water source, turn the water on and adjust your Root Quencher Jr. valve. When you turn on the fl ow control valve, the ideal setting is for the chamber to fill but not overflow. It is critical to balance the flow into the device with
the other sprinklers in that zone. Please note that on drip line zones, the Root Quencher Jr. is to be set at one of the lowest settings to accommodate for the extended times that drip zones need to run.
Now your Root Quencher Jr. is installed and ready for irrigating and fertilizing use.
